We often talk about the transition period between summer and fall. When it’s blazing hot outside, but all you want is a spiced chai latte (hot, no more iced), a pumpkin candle, and a cozy cardigan wrapped around your body. As we enter August, this feeling begins, and while it is likely the most prevalent with fashion (if I see one more pair of linen shorts, I’ll lose it), I feel like it almost as much with my nail colors.
Don’t get me wrong: I am a fiend for a bright, bold nail color every day of the week. Lime green? You got it. Bright yellow French tips? Already done it. Purple one hand, pink the other? Did it before Kylie. I love bright colors through to my soul, but as my heart yearns for cool weather, Taylor Swift on repeat, and scary books and movies, the last thing I want to see on my fingers is a bright summery shade.
