Giving beauty products the old college try pretty much comes in our job description as editors. Every time there’s a new launch, we’re ready to take it on. Our vanities, makeup bags, bathroom cabinets, and closets are pretty much bursting at the seams with new products to test and review. It comes with the territory, and we’re always happy to fulfill this duty for the good of the company. With trying all of these products, we also are pretty in-tune with what our favorites are. You can’t call yourself a “wellness guru” or a “skincare enthusiast” on the Internet and not expect to get a flood of questions asking for your recommendations and favorites.

The one thing all of our beauty-obsessed editors have in common? We spend our coin shopping at Sephora — because where else would we find our favorite brands for makeup, skincare, hair, wellness, and more all in one place?!

Our beauty-loving hearts skipped a beat when we saw the big news: Sephora’s Summer Bonus Beauty Event is here!

From 8/20 to 8/27, Sephora VIB and Rouge members can shop and receive a 15% (VIB) and 20% (Rouge) discount on hundreds of items!

VIB and Rouge members can use this offer as many times as they want, in-store and online using the code SUMMERSAVE .

Becoming a Beauty Insider at Sephora is basically the key to unlocking all your beauty-loving dreams. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive points for every purchase to redeem on samples, full-sized products, and more. You also can unlock the other tiers (VIB and Rouge), which have perks such as special discounts and events, free makeovers, and more.

From the highlighter I’ve been telling everyone to buy for months (seriously, people, do it), the shampoo and conditioner you can’t live without, the perfect fall lip color, a new skincare ingredient trend you’ve been dying to try, and more.

Our editors are sharing their favorites, what they’re hauling from the event, and the product they think is worth the splurge. Plus, we’re giving you a glimpse into how we all store our makeup collections. Scroll on!

Milk Makeup

Matte Bronzer

This has been my hero product this summer. I add it to the perimeters of the face to add a little bronze and glow to the skin. It seriously blends into my skin like nothing, and it never takes the foundation or other products away. I’ve even been wearing it on days I don’t wear foundation to make myself look a little better, and this might actually be my favorite way to wear it. I’m obsessed with everything Milk makes (especially their Kush mascara!), but this might take the cake.

Kaja

Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio

Every time I wear these out in public, someone compliments my eyeshadow. I’ve had strangers run up to me on the street to ask what’s on my eyes. So, I wouldn’t recommend these if you’re not trying to be a showstopper because these certainly put all eyes on you, baby. I have two of them (in Rosewater and Toasted Caramel), and I add a little bit of at least one shade to every look. They’re already a pretty inexpensive for three eyeshadows, so I’m planning to pick up the rest of the shades with the discount!

Fenty Beauty

Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation

Alright, I have to be honest that I already bought this. I JUST COULDN’T WAIT. I’m never joking when I say Rihanna can do no wrong in my eyes, and I’ve been waiting for this foundation to release basically since the line was released in 2017. I’ve never been into matte foundations with my dry skin, but I also like a good amount of coverage day to day. Wow, now I really can’t wait. Should I have gotten priority shipping? AH, REGRETS.

The Splurge Worthy of the Sale…

Estee Lauder

Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Crème

My sweet aunt got me this for Christmas a few years ago along with the popular Advanced Night Repair serum. I’ve never been one to splurge on skincare because, well, eyeshadow palettes and fancy brushes and expensive foundations exist. This made a difference in my skin after one use (I wish I was kidding, why is it so expensive, ugh). When I use it at night, I wake up with baby-soft skin that looks plump and revitalized (as the name suggests!). It’s a very thick cream with a beautiful (expensive, if I do say so myself) scent that immediately sinks into the skin. Because I only had a small amount, I only allowed myself to use it on special occasions. I’m about to buy the full-size, and I’m not looking back.

Charlotte Tilbury

Matte Revolution Lipstick

Just like a structured trench coat or George Clooney, berry lips for fall never go out of style. I am a fan of this matte formula for peak blotting use. My strategy is: line lips with subtle liner (Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury is very good for this purpose) then use the lipstick direct from the bullet to fill in your lips. Grab a tissue and blot a least four times to get the perfect lip stain that will last literally all day. I highly recommend the shade "Bond Girl" both because what a badass name and also it's the perfect, universally flattering color.

Shiseido

Eyelash Curler

This is going to sound dramatic, but if I could take one thing to a desert island (excluding like sunscreen or a flare gun, because obviously), it would be this eyelash curler. You just cannot replicate the effects with anything else. Blush? Pinch your cheeks, bite into a raspberry and rub the juice on your face, think about Taron Egerton. Done. Foundation? You'll be so tanned/sunburnt it won't really matter. Highlighter? That's what the sweat is for! Anyways back to the point: curling your eyelashes instantly opens your face and helps you look more awake while drawing attention to your sparkling eyes. Are you sold yet?

The Product I’ve Been Dying to Try…

Nudestix

Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze

I like to watch Youtube makeup tutorials while I get ready for work in the mornings and I recently stumbled across this one and immediately needed to buy the Nudestix Blush & Bronze. It is SO GOOD. Perfect color and so buttery/blendable. I do not consider myself a contour connoisseur, but even I had no trouble dabbing this across my face and blend, blend, blending for a really natural glow.

The Splurge Worthy of the Sale…

Maison Margiela

REPLICA Whispers In The Library

I am deeply influenced by product names and this one got me — hook, line, and sinker. I tested a sample recently and now I MUST OWN THIS. The sale is the perfect time to snag it because it falls outside my what-the-hell-I'm-going-to-treat-myself impulse purchase limit. It also passed my have-I-wanted-this-for-over-four-months limit. Win, win.

Nars

Radiant Creamy Concealer

Sometimes when a product is super hyped, once you finally take the plunge, you're inevitably disappointed — but this is not one of those times. This is the concealer to end all concealers. It brightens up my under eyes without the slightest sign of creasing or dryness, covers any blemishes I have seamlessly, and does it all while remaining undetectable. This would make it onto my list of desert-island products, no questions asked. I've owned countless tubes of this in my life, and won't be stopping any time soon.

Cover FX

Monochromatic Matte + Shimmer Blush Duo

When people say they don't like blush, I'm always completely dumbfounded. The point in my day I finally feel alive is when I get that swipe of color on the apples of my cheeks — and this blush is my favorite of the year. It has a matte and luminous side, which makes it completely customizable depending on what I want that day (and whether or not I have texture I don't want to emphasize with a shimmery product). The formula is beautiful, and the color is the perfect rosey shade that's usable in all seasons.

The Product I’ve Been Dying to Try…

Milk

Hydro Grip Primer

Ever since the launch of this bad boy, I've been seeing an endless stream of people saying it's the best primer they've ever used. I'm always looking for primers that will help foundation look better on my dry skin, and this one's tacky texture also is supposed to help makeup last throughout the day. This sale has finally given me the opportunity to pull the trigger — give me the dewy skin of my dreams!

The Splurge Worthy of the Sale…

Drunk Elephant

A-Passioni Retinol Cream

Drunk Elephant products are an investment, but I have truly yet to be disappointed by one. This product was my first dive into Retinol, and everyone and their mother warned me that it was going to make my super-sensitive skin dry and flakey at first — and they were (thankfully) completely wrong. This retinol is unique in that it's suspended in hydrating ingredients, so it helps the retinol improve your skin even further while dodging its drying effects. I was in a bit of a skin slump, feeling like my skin was looking dull and lifeless day in an day out, no matter what I did. I RARELY feel like a skin product has changed my life, but this one absolutely has. I noticed an insane difference in how my skin looked in a matter of weeks, and it is absolutely something I'll be splurging on from here on out — I cannot sing its praises enough.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY

Hollywood Flawless Filter

Known as a 'liquid complexion booster' this IRL instagram filter can be used on a bare face as a tinted moisturizer/highlighter, as a primer, or mixed with your foundation for an all-over dewy glow. The latter is my preference and I've found it extended my bottle of foundation (I use significantly less when I have this on). Think of it as a natural 'glow up' making everyone think you finally splurged on an ultra-expensive Jennifer Aniston facial.

Living Proof

Perfect Hair Day Shampoo

This one doubles as a beauty and relationship secret. From the smell to the results, I love everything about my Living Proof Shampoo. It’s worth every penny, especially since I only wash my hair two times a week. What I don’t love is when I started to notice my shampoo draining faster than anticipated only to find my husband had abandoned his $4 bodywash/shampoo combo and also fallen in love with my favorite splurge. Rather than hiding it (which I strongly considered), I invested in the 24 oz. pump version and agreed to split it. The bigger size is a better value and now there’s plenty of shampoo to go around. This week I’ll be stocking up because even though I love to pretend I'm bougie — ya girl loves a promo code.

The Product I’ve Been Dying to Try…

Jouer Cosmetics

Highlighter in 'Skinny Dip'

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I almost tackled Beth to the ground when I saw the glow on her face at Atlanta. Low and behold it’s the highlighter she’s been raving about in her beauty articles for months. It arrived this week and has already become a holy grail product. It’s natural enough that you just think ‘wow’ (as opposed to 'hello high-beams') so I really have to practice self control and not cover my entire face.

The Splurge Worthy of the Sale…

Dyson

Supersonic Hair Dryer

Let me preface this by saying: I don’t blowdry my hair often thanks to wet drying and the strength that is my T3 curling iron. However, I have used a Dyson hair dryer on multiple occasions (shoutout to my mom) and I recommend this to everyone as a #1 purchase during one of Sephora’s special events. It dries your hair faster without having to rely on excessive heat and their patented technology makes drying your hair with a Dyson less damaging. Plus, because of the funnel you get less sweaty during the actual process. I personally can’t justify the spend because I know I won’t use it in my daily routine, but if you blow dry your hair regularly this will change your life.

Summer Fridays

Jet Lag Mask

After trying Jet Lag Mask when it first hit Sephora's shelves, I don't know how I ever lived without it... seriously. True to the name, I take this chic little tube on every flight, and it absolutely saves my skin from airplane breakouts and dryness that typically lasts for days. I also use it as an overnight mask because it's gentle enough to layer with other serums and treatments, but moisturizing enough to wake up with a serious glow.

Laniege

Lip Sleeping Mask

Full disclosure: I have been addicted to lip balm since I was probably 10 years old. And I don't mean "addicted" jokingly, I mean more-likely-to-leave-the-house-without-my-phone-than-without-lip-balm kinda thing. So if you can imagine, discovering this lip mask is probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It's hydrating without being sticky, and stays on so long that I put it on before bed and will wake up with soft, subtle lips – mask still intact. Plus, it's just tinted enough to wear over a lip stain or pencil for the most hydrated lips ever. Lip balm who?

The Product I’ve Been Dying to Try…

Tarte

Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

I'm not usually the biggest makeup fanatic, but something about the end of summer makes me want to up my glow game. I've been on the hunt for one perfect eye shadow palette (I don't like to clutter my makeup bag!) that is fully stocked with the prettiest colors for both day and night. This palette from Tarte is specifically designed for a warm glow and the colors are stunning. Plus, for a skincare obsessive like me, the formula is enriched with amazonian clay – good for your skin, and good for your glow!

The Splurge Worthy of the Sale…

Peter Thomas Roth

24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra-Gel Eye Patches

I'm going to be honest – this is probably the most I've spent on a beauty item like, ever. But let me tell you it was worth every 24k gold penny. 20 minutes with these luxurious, relaxing patches and my under eye bags are completely gone, small fine lines I have (and I'm only 24!) are instantly filled, and my whole face seems illuminated. It's the one product I've ever used that has actually allowed me to leave the house without feeling like I need under-eye concealer. Plus, it's 24k gold, so why even question it? I wait for epic sales like this one to save money on splurge items that will transform my beauty routine, and maybe this is your time to try it too. Trust me, your under eye bags will thank you.

Please note the product exclusions: Not valid on The Ordinary products. Clients are limited to the purchase of one Dyson item, three Drunk Elephant items, five Morphe items, and three Tatcha items per SKU per transaction.

The post What Our Editors Are Buying From Sephora’s Summer Bonus Event appeared first on The Everygirl.

It’s a hot summer day, and I’m sweaty, frustrated with my closet, and wishing I could go back to bed. As I’m getting dressed, my eye wanders to the totes of sweaters, coats, and Halloween decor in the back of my closet. Oooh. A chai latte with one pump of pumpkin spice (my personal fall drink hack), a cozy sweater, and Friday the 13th? Sign me the heck up. Next thing I know, I’ve put myself in full fall mode. I’m scouring the Internet for new clothes, buying every candle with “spice” in the name, and clearing out Trader Joe’s Honey Crisp Apple Cider stock. Then, I have two months until it actually gets cold — I’m forced to get my PSL iced in the meantime! (An iced PSL should honestly be a crime.)

In true Beth fashion, I turn to my beauty routine to make it feel like it’s fall even when it’s not. The best new arrival to get me through the next month of 80 degree days? FabFitFun! I go back to FabFitFun every season to try new products, stay up-to-date on the latest trends, and help me get in the spirit without having to call in for reinforcements (AKA putting my AC on 60).

You’ve heard me rave about FabFitFun over and over again, but here’s why I keep sticking around:

#1. FFF works on a seasonal basis, which is truly the most perfect arrangement. I’m not hauling every single month, but I get to try new products every season. By the time the next box comes, I’ve had the time to figure out my final review of everything and decide what works and what doesn’t.

#2. From body scrubs to bathrobes to highlighters to fitness gadgets, there are always products in the box for everyone. The box is really customizable too. Once you sign up, you’ll get to choose between certain products, meaning you’ll always get the stuff you want. Then, anything I don’t need or want gets gifted to friends and family!

#3. Subscription services are a little scary sometimes, but FFF makes it so easy. It’s a no-frills, no-BS sign-up. You sign up now and get the current box, and you can skip seasons or cancel at any time. I love transparency, especially when I’m spending my hard-earned cash on it.

#4. Who doesn’t love a good deal? The value on this box is insane — it always values over $200 (usually more), but it costs less than my monthly Internet bill (and is even less with our code below!). I always feel like I’m getting my money’s worth with this box.

I swear by eye masks when I want to pamper myself a little bit in the morning, and I've been wanting to try these ones from Wander Beauty for a while! FFF always includes up-and-coming brands, so there's always something fun to try.

While FFF includes a lot of new and exciting brands, they also work with many that we all already know and love. Aveda is a standard when it comes to haircare, and this daily hair repair mask is no exception. Use this o the days you use your flat iron to prevent and heal any damage!

Human + Kind

Body Souffle

A thick, luxurious moisturizer is necessary when the temperatures start getting colder. Slather this on and get in your comfiest pajamas for a cozy night in.

Afterspa

We all know wrapping our hair up in a normal towel isn't good for it, so getting this hair wrap is a little reminder from FFF to stop! This is awesome when you just get out of the shower or to hold your hair back while you're getting ready.

The post Unboxing: The FabFitFun Fall 2019 Box! See Why It’s Already Selling Out… appeared first on The Everygirl.

When you douse your skin in moisturizers and vitamin C daily, never leave the house without SPF, and would rather be caught dead than sleep in makeup, you expect glowing, baby-soft skin in return — so, when you aren’t getting it and instead are greeted with dullness and aging, it can be confusing. If you love your skin and still wonder why it isn’t loving you back, it may be something else that’s wreaking havoc on your skin.

There are two little words on many a skincare product that are easy to be ignored but could be the key to all of your skin woes: pH balanced.

It sounds overwhelming and something that’s worth glazing over (life is hard enough without revisiting 10th-grade science classes), but if your skin is constantly dry or irritated, your pH levels could be to blame — but what exactly does that mean?

What is pH?

To get into what exactly pH, we have to revisit some high school chemistry (remember those color-changing strips you dipped into different liquids to see where they fell on the scale?). If you want to get technical, the term pH, or potential of hydrogen, refers to the activity of hydrogen ions (ions are molecules that carry a positive or negative charge) in a water-based solution.” How does this affect your skin? Because it’s made of mostly water, and its pH can alter how it retains it.

pH runs on a scale from 0-14, where anything below a 7 is considered acidic, and anything higher is considered alkaline. The skin’s surface is acidic — running at an average pH of 4.7 — and increases in acidity as we age. This number also varies based on the skincare we’re using on a daily basis. We want our skin to remain acidic to ensure our skin’s barrier can defend against aggressors. Overall, we want our skin to hover around a pH level of around 5.5.

What is the skin’s acid mantle?

The skin’s acid mantle is “is the protective film of natural oils, amino acids, and sweat that covers your skin,” according to Dr. Whitney Bowe in The New York Times. You can damage it with alkaline products, which can lead to “inflammation, allergies, and breakouts.” The sun can also damage our acid mantle, which makes it more difficult for the skin to repair itself.

The skin can handle minor changes to its pH, which everything from water —  which is a 7 on the pH scale — to pollution can cause. When it becomes a problem is when we’re using too many products that sways our skin’s pH into the alkaline range — which can cause issues like dryness and sensitivity.

How to restore your skin’s pH balance

Since our skin is naturally acidic, it works best with acidic skincare products. Issues arise when we use products that are too alkaline — with a pH higher than a 7.

Unfortunately, the only way to know exactly what a product’s pH is is if the brand specifically provides it. If your cleanser leaves you with a tight, dry feeling, it could be a sign that the cleanser is too alkaline, which in turn disturbs your skin’s natural oils.

A great place to start with re-balancing your skin is with your cleanser. Some brands put an emphasis on making sure the pH of their products are the sweet spot of a 5.5, which ensures that it isn’t stripping your skin of its moisture. Other gentle cleansers — like micellar water — can help to keep you balanced and moisturized. Swapping a harsh cleanser for a gentle, pH-balanced alternative can transform your skin.

Cleansers

La Roche Posay

Toleriane Cleanser

According to Shari Marchbein, a dermatologist in New York, “Products with ingredients like glycerin, petrolatum, and hyaluronic acid can also help repair the skin barrier and replenish lost moisture,” she told the New York Times.

It’s also recommended that chemical exfoliants — like glycolic and lactic acid — should only be used once a week for dry and sensitive skin, and no more than three times a week for oily skin. Make sure that when you do use your acids, you immediately follow up with a moisturizer to help lock in the skin’s moisture.

Toners

Certain toners are also formulated to restore your skin’s pH level and get it closer to that coveted 5.5. Use on a cotton ball first thing after cleansing — before you put on moisturizer — for optimal results.

The post I Realized My Cleanser Was Sabotaging My Skin—Here’s How appeared first on The Everygirl.

I know what you’re thinking. “Either this bi*tch is crazy, or she’s seriously exaggerating.” To which I respond: “Yes and no!”

As I pack up the apartment I’ve lived in the last two years, I’m realizing I own a lot of stuff. While I’m totally for minimalism in most aspects of my life (I donate clothes about once a month, always go through old books, and pare down the photos stored on my phone quite frequently), my vanity is the one space I’m a full-blown maximalist. I’ll forego a lunch date if it means I can buy that new palette all over Instagram, and I add at least one drugstore beauty product to every Target run (even though I swear I’ll resist every time).

So, I decided to have some fun, and I counted all the beauty products I’ve purchased this year, from makeup and skincare to hair products and body care. And ladies and gents, I’ve tried a lot. (No one tell my mom — I told her I got a handle on the Sephora habit from a few months ago, and it was a straight lie.)

Obviously, not all of those products worked for me. So, what products actually make the cut? That’s why I’m here (yay!). I’m sharing all the new products I’ve tried this year that actually have changed my routine and made their way into my makeup bag. (I tried to cap it at 10, but I decided I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.)

I didn’t include some of my holy grails (Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, Hourglass Veil Setting Powder, Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother, and my beloved Milk Makeup Kush Mascara to name a few) because, honestly, I feel like I’ve bored you all (my amazing fans) with my love for them over and over again. Now, without further ado, my faves that you should absolutely buy because I want someone to talk about them with:

Tarte

Chrome Paint Shadow Pot

I get compliments on my makeup every time I wear this, and it’s seriously the easiest eyeshadow on the planet. All I do is swipe it across my lids with a finger tip (brush if I’m feeling like a real professional) and blend the edges (sometimes I even skip this step!). It gives the perfect “I-just-got-back-from-a-vacation-in-Fiji” vibes — glowy, natural, and so flattering! I have the shade "Sun Drenched"!

Jouer

Powder Highlighter

This article could really turn into “the beauty products I always get compliments on” because this is another one that I get comments from people every time I wear it. I wore this on my graduation day, and it gave me the most gorgeous, almost-natural-but-too-good-to-be-natural glow to my face in photos and IRL. You can lightly dust it on your cheekbones for a radiant, lit-from-within look, or go HAM and make sure the aliens see you from space. I hit a solid middle ground for every day, and it’s become my favorite highlighter of all time. "Skinny Dip" is my go-to shade!

Verb

Ghost Oil

This fine-hair oil is miraculous for anyone who’s hair feels weighed down by other oils. I got this as a sample from Sephora (gotta love those points), and I bought the full size the day after I tried it. I don’t have naturally great hair — it’s fine, damaged, and always could use a little zhushing. When I use this product, I don’t even have to style my hair because it gives such a silky, soft feel to the hair that actually makes my natural texture look good. I refuse to be without this product from now until the end of time.

Kopari

Coconut Lip Glossy

I’m going to be honest, I just tried this product about a week ago, and I am in love. This has replaced most all of my lip glosses in my collection, and it doubles as an intensely hydrating and smoothing lip balm. It’s so glossy that my lips even look bigger when I’m wearing it. I wore it over another lip product (keep scrolling!) recently and got more compliments on my lip color than I have in a long time.

Milani

Conceal + Perfect Longwear Concealer

Although my dad passed down his unfortunately frustrating case of hormonal acne down to me, he did give me some good genes too, such as skin that tans extremely well. A few days out in the sun (even with a high SPF!) will darken my skin tone more than five foundation shades. So, I stick with drugstore products from May to October instead of repurchasing everything in darker shades every other week. This summer, I tried Milani’s newest concealer line, and it’s amazing. I’m usually a radiant concealer girl, but this summer’s heat has proved to be all the dew I need on a day-to-day basis. This has a satin finish that doesn’t crease and stays all day.

Charlotte Tilbury

Cheek to Chic Blush in "Pillow Talk"

When I first saw this blush in stores, I was like “r u srs??? $40 for this???” I never imagined I’d pay $40 for a blush, but during Sephora’s 20% off event in the spring, I finally decided to try it. Y’ALLLLL. This blush is unlike anything I’ve ever tried. If you were ever wondering how to get that radiant, just-blushing cheek look you see all over Charlotte Tilbury’s Instagram, this is it. This blush livens up my face on the days I feel like I walked out of a coffin. I loved it when my skin was a few shades lighter in the spring, and I still love it now with a summer tan. I went from being afraid of the price to wanting it in every color!

Fenty Beauty

Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer

Is there anything Rihanna can’t do?? I’ll stand by while you think. Yeah, the answer is no. This bronzer is awesome, y’all. I waited a couple months after the launch to pick this up, and it made its way to my holy grails pretty fast. It blends into my skin so well, and the undertone is key for my olive/yellow skin. I’ll absolutely be buying this in a lighter shade to give my skin some color this fall/winter.

Weleda

Skin Food

This product has truly saved my skin. I decided to give it a whirl after seeing all of my favorite makeup artists on Instagram talking about it. Earlier this year, I started using a prescription strength RetinA, and while my skin is as clear as its ever been, it’s dry AF. I use this as a nighttime moisturizer, and I wake up with glowy, soft skin every morning. I have zero interest in trying another moisturizer — this $12 one is all I need! (And you know it’s good when a beauty addict like me says she doesn’t want to try anything else.)

Bite Beauty

Outburst Longwear Lip Stain

That lip product I was talking about? This is it. I’ve about had it with dry, crusty lipsticks that take forever to put on right and then look atrocious as soon as I eat or drink anything. I’ve basically swapped everything in my collection for sheer formulas. I love Bite’s lipstick line as it is, so I grabbed this as soon as they came out. I never thought I’d wear an orange lipstick so much, but this formula makes it as easy to wear as my typical nudes.

Glossier

Colorslide Technogel Eye Pencil

Hello, I’m Beth, and I am addicted to Glossier. I’m patiently waiting for their new hoodies to come out because I will buy out their stock. So, naturally, I grabbed a few Glossier Play items the day they launched. This eyeliner is such an easy way to add a little color to my eyes for work or daytime when I don’t feel like going full-glam. It also stays all freaking day, so I don’t have to worry about touch-ups. The. Best. 👏 👏

Burt's Bees

Detoxifying Clay Mask

One night, I really wanted a new face mask, so I just walked over to CVS and grabbed this. (I’ll never get over the ease and convenience of city life after living in the boonies for 18 years!) I expected it to be a run-of-the-mill charcoal mask that I’d use once and forget about, and boy was I wrong. This is, quite possibly, one of the best masks I’ve ever used. The morning after I used it, I snapped a pic to send to our other Editorial Assistant Maddie because I was so surprised at how clear my skin looked. I’ve used it a bunch of times since then, and it’s made a noticeable difference.

Natasha Denona

Sunrise Eyeshadow Palette

I have literal dreams about owning a Natasha Denona palette. I’m an eyeshadow lover, and her eyeshadows are top notch. However, because they’re made for makeup artists, they contain a lot of product, making the price just too much for my little amateur self to swallow. Finally, Natasha (we’re on a first name basis now that I own a palette) made a smaller palette with the same amount of shades and a little less product in each pan, cutting the cost in half. I am officially a convert — everything Natasha makes is gold, and I’m obsessed.

Urban Decay

Perversion Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

I asked which eyeliner to buy a couple months ago while taking over The Everygirl Instagram, and truthfully, I went against the grain and picked this UD one. I’m here to say you all were wrong — this eyeliner is amazing. I rub my eyes constantly, making winged liner basically impossible. This legit doesn’t budge. It’s also an easy-to-use brush tip, so I don’t have to spend my entire morning making sure my wings are right. Tip: use an oil-based makeup remover to get this off at night!

Sonia Kashuk

Essential Precision Concealer Brush

I used Sonia Kashuk brushes all through middle school because they were affordable and easy to pick up when my mom let me roam Target. Fast-forward a few years, and these brushes are still as amazing as I remember. I’ve been really into spot concealing and letting my skin breathe a couple days a week, and this brush makes it so easy at such an affordable price.

Tanologist

Water Dark Sunless Tanning Treatment

I decided to become a self-tanner person this year for the first time, so I decided to try something on the inexpensive side before venturing elsewhere. TBH, I have no interest in anything else! It looks so natural, and as my skin has naturally gotten darker from the sun, the shade still works for me.
